second Visit to the US ( 2 ) - 635

     Rochester - New Jersey 

The Distance from Rochester to New Jersey is 580  Kms . Americans would prefer to call it as 360 Miles . Speed limit Billboards at most places mention 65 mph as the Limit . The speedometer inside our Honda  ODYSSEY has calibrations in Kmph , constant mental calculations have to be done to stay within the allowable limits. This does prove challenging at times . 

The striking feature for most parts of this drive is traversing the POCONO Mountain Range on Highway 476 . Many picturesque locales with slopping and absolutely green topped Golf Course like appearance with distant houses appearing as small specks or dots does leave a lasting impression on ones mind .

At Other places it is an absolute forest with very tall trees for miles and miles all around . 

Barely 90 minutes into the drive is the City of Syracuse which is Home to some very Famous Educational Institutions . A large number of Indian Students come here for their Higher Studies .

The drive also takes you through the Lehigh Road Tunnel which is a little more than 1 Mile in Length .


Crossing the Basking Bridge brings you right into the New Jersey State. Our final destination was Marlton which we reached at 3.30 pm . This place is also called as LITTLE INDIA and has a very large population of Ethnic Indians settled here .








We chose Hampton Inn as our place of stay for the next 2 days .

I will not dwell much into the function on hand as it was purely a private affair which was  conducted in the Grandest Manner possible .

The most interesting part of the trip to the Famed City of New York will follow in my Next Blog .

US VISIT 3 - SURPRISE PACKAGE - 777

         SURPRISE PACKAGE      VISIT TO NEW VRINDABAN  Our plan was to head for our home in Ajax after Breakfast as it was almost an Eight hour drive back home with  a number of Pitstops in between .   Sathya and Vandana gave us ( Revathy and Myself ) a pleasant Surprise by informing us that we were heading for NEW VRINDABAN instead  in the neighboring State of WEST VIRGINIA  . New VRINDABAN is the US Headquarters of the Popular  HARE KRISHNA OR ISKON Community in the US and the final resting place of their founder or PRABHUPADA . NAVARATHRI GOLU 2025 - AJAX - 795

                    NAVARATHRI 2025   --  AJAX  We are at my Son and Daughter In Law’s place at Ajax in Canada this year for the Navarathri Festival . It is  a festival which has the Ladies garnering all the limelight during the Nine Day Festival with THE GOLU as the highlight . The men in the house have to get down the Cartons from the attic with the neatly packed idols of last year stored there with utmost care . Cleaning and dusting the same takes some doing . Getting the 5 or 7 Deck GOLU PADI is a big task in itself . Haarish , my son is good with his hands which includes the Carpentry work also .
