No way you can DELETE this Memory
The other day while being busy on the Mobile, a message kept popping up to show that the MEMORY on my Mobile was almost full and that I needed to do something fast to gain some space .
The first thing that come to mind on such occasions is to DELETE the duplicate or unwanted pictures and Videos stored in the Mobile .
( It is a different matter that this Deleting is not going to be of much help in this regard )
I must confess that I have pictures/videos stored which are at least a decade old . They have been helping me as a backdrop for my Blog Posts .
This led me to a browsing session and a deleting spree of old and duplicate pictures/videos .
As some of you may be aware , I completed my Textile Technology at the SASMIRA located at Worli in Mumbai more than half a century back . This is a place which has a special place in my memory . I had taken a couple of pictures of the Institute during my Subsequent Visits to Mumbai .
I mention all this because my deleting spree chanced upon this Picture of SASMIRA . I obviously could not bring myself to delete this picture which always has a special place in my heart for various reasons .
1) Getting Admission in SASMIRA which still is one of the Premier Institutions imparting courses in Textile Technology was a big deal. Thanks for this goes to my Uncle who was employed as the PA to the MD of SASMA , the parent body of SASMIRA .
2 ) That You were in the midst of 50 or so colleagues which included those in the Textile Chemistry group from the Gujarati Community who to put it very mildly were not very comfortable with English and not even given to speak in Hindi at most times had its own advantage . This enabled me to learn Gujarati in a very short span of time .
3 ) There were 4 of us who did not belong to this all Gujarati group . Parashu belonged to Tamilnadu , who I was to learn later that he also had his roots in Ravanasamudram from his mother's side , Varmaji belonged to Chapra in Bihar and Mukulesh Mehta whose forefathers settled in Uganda and had to rush to India because of the Anti Indian riots during the Idi Amin Regime. He was convent Educated at Campion School and was as comfortable with English as his mother tongue of Gujarati.
This made us a group of FOUR and a friendship that has stood the test of time . We are still in constant touch with each other . Mukulesh and Parashu went on to choose their Life Partners while at SASMIRA . The best part was when they trooped in with their Partners for a trip down South and spent time at Agasthiarpatty visiting the many breathtaking attractions in and around Ambasamudram .
Can one ever Delete these Memories .
