REAL INSPIRATION FOR ---'XXX - 10
Although a bit late , i make this post in the steadfast hope that this inspires others as much as it has inspired me .
I arrived at platform number 7 , at Chennai Central by the 0608 Nagercoil/Chennai Central Special Express from Tirunelveli at 8 AM on Nov 15 th.
Despite the heavy crowd , the sight of the middle aged man sitting next to his magazine trolley ( Owner of the magazine selling stall ) sitting cross legged in Pancha Katcham and Angavastram with the Pancha Paatram and Uddrini doing the Sandhyaa Vandanam was a sight to behold and also a great inspiration . Sadly I missed taking a snap of the same as that would have been more appropriate and sent the message to a larger audience . It takes some courage to do the same in this land of the non believers and haters of the particular sect who still follow this practice that has been handed down to them through the ages .
PS : Though not a very strict follower of the rituals myself , this has inspired me all the more now and I too have started reciting the GAYATHRI MANTHIRAM thrice every day .

Non Believers and others who for some reason hate my sect can have a hearty laugh but that my is the least of my concerns .
Yes it does takes some courage to do it without being apologetic or aggressive. Our religion, knowledge and culture has gone through many dark ages since it was established / evolved in pre-historic times . It's age can be safely regarded as 3 to 4 thousand years ! The dark ages I refer may have occurred not less than at least 10 times during these periods . The dark ages must have lasted for centuries together ! One such dark age is very much in our knowledge and perceivable experience is since the advent of Mughals and till the appearance of Swami Vivekananda and few others ! These dark ages have introduced huge misgivings about vedic practices and rituals .
ReplyDeleteUnder these circumstances any narrative on " chaturvarnya " its genesis , references to " Brahman" is more likely to create misunderstanding or misgivings rather than absorption of truth !
