Super Cricket Match During 2018 IPL INDIAN PARLIAMENT/ ASSEMBLY LEAGUE
Election to
MIZORAM , TELENGANA , CHATTISGARH , RAJASTHAN AND MADHYA PRADESH
Tuesday , the 11 th of December has been unique in the history of Indian Cricket. 5 very Important cricket matches across various fotmats have been played for the first time in this country.
The venues for these matches have ranged from Aizawl in the North East to Hyderabad in the South to Raipur , Jaipur and Bhopal in the Hindi Heartland.
I , sitting in the comfort of my drawing room in faraway Agasthiarpatty have been able to watch all the action as they unfolded and the commentary provided non stop on the TV and that too in English , Hindi , or Tamil made it all the more engrossing. All the matches which started at 8 AM have finished at varying times depending on the teams involved and the targets set .
Even as i write this piece ,the result of one of the matches is still to be announced as the final decisions is still awaited under the DRS .
The game at Aizawl drew special attention as it was a match between a team ranked very high in the ICC rankings and a relative newcomer anxious to make their mark both nationally and internationally. Surprisingly the low target of 21 was achieved with consummate ease by the newcomer and the ICC ranked team was left to bite the dust .
The second match being played at Hyderabad was a test Match played between Afganistan and India . There were two very surprising aspects to this match in that it was a very short match and just lasted about 2 hours and the second , Afghanistan walloped India in this match.
CS Rao was the undisputed man of the match .
The Third Match was the T20 Match being played at Raipur, it was between the 3 time winner RAMAN S ELEVEN and the DELHI CHARGES . The Ramans Eleven were facing flak for their lackluster performance for sometime now .DELHI CHARGERS won the match hands down . The Man of the Match has still not been announced.
The fourth match was also a T20 played at Jaipur . It was a match between the 3 time winner Raje s eleven and the Capital Smashers . The Capital Smashers had a fairly easy victory . There was some show of a fight only in the initial stages . The combine of Pilot and Gehlot seemed too hard for Raje to handle .
Discussion on who should be awarded the Prestigious Man Of the Match is still going on.
The fifth and the most exciting match was the one played at Bhopal , between the Scindhias Eleven and the Chauhans Eleven . Both were almost evenly matched in their strengths and weaknesses . Both had mentors of immense standing to look up to .
The Scindhias had Rahul, Jyotiraditya and Kamal Nath to bank on and the Chauhans had the backing of the formidable duo of Naren/Shah to back them up. This match put all the IPL finals in the shade . It was an absolute cliff hanger and the target of 116 seemed just a bit too much for both . They are both short of a victory by a small wishker.
Help is being taken of the DRS to review some of the previous decisions and arrive at the final count .
It is now 10 AM on the 12 th December . The Third Umpire sitting in the airconditioned confines of her office and reviewing the various video replays is expected to announce the Winner and Man of the Match shortly.
As it turns out , Rahul the super mentor was the undisputed MAN OF THE SERIES.
