CAN ONE STOOP ANY LOWER TO EARN MONEY - 32

I  had reason to be at a hospital in Tirunelveli for almost 3 days in connection with the stay of a relative of mine who was recuperating from a bout of illness . One gets rather numb with all that one sees within the confines of a hospital .
The following case comes to mind both as a shock as to how low the money minded will stoop to earn a fast buck and the pathetic treatment the helpless are given .
Here is a couple , the husband a teacher at a High School at Cheranmahadevi under the special category quota . He is  totally vision impaired and was doing the teaching job by the use of the Braille methodology. His loving wife was from an orphanage during her entire pre marriage years . They had a very sweet 4 year daughter. They did not have a close relative of any sort and were almost on their own  . As can be imagined under the circumstances they were leading a happy and contended life till the following event took place .
The teacher had to be taken to a hospital in Nellai Town for a bout of flue . After the mandatory examination and tests the hospital informed the couple that it was a mild case of Cardiac arrest and followed it with a medication process which by all accounts entailed the use of steroids  . The poor teacher gained abnormal weight within 3 days and all their protests and request for discharge were turned down . The payment of Rs 38000 and protest from the other patients secured his ultimate  release .
He is now at one of the more famous hospitals at Nellai Junction and is responding  to the treatment very well .

Please be very vary of all the treatments and procedures when there is a need to use the services of a HOSPITAL . You never know to what level they will stoop to earn a fast buck .

  1. It is a fact. my friend who used to purchase medicines for him and his wife for a hefty amount every month from usual pharmacy, changed his mind and approached a Jan aushady pharmacy, with the medicinal strips and purchased generic medicines by showing them. The charges were one fifth of what he usually paid for medicines. Even doctors can prescribe the same, as generic medicines have the same combinations as normal medicines. the difference is only the name. But doctors do not prescribe them, as they will lose the monthly commission. from the pharmaeceutical companies. as such no one is prepared to help a common man.
