NAVA THIRUPATHI MUMBAI/CHENNAI FAMILY - PAVOOR VISIT DAY 3 -133

We were almost on the dot for our scheduled ZDeparture of 6.00 am for the Visit to the Nava Thirupathi Temples situated on the banks of the Tambarabarani River in what was once  Tirunelveli District, now bifurcated as Tirunelveli and Tuticorin Districts but closer to Tiruchendur .

NAVATIRUPATI are a set of 9 Temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu located on the Tirunelveli / Tiruchendur Route . All these temples are classified as " Divya Desams " , the 108 Temples of Vishnu revered by the 12 Poet Saints or AZHWARS .
The time at our disposal was 6.00 am to 12 Noon and all 9 places needed to be covered. We had packed breakfast and left as scheduled at around 6 am and were at Srivakundam , our first place of visit at 8.15 am.
1 SRIVAIKUNTAM - SUN : Vaikunthanathan Kallapiran and Vaikundanaayani Sooranaathanayagi Dedicated to SURYA
Temple timing   8.00 am to 12 Noon.

2 SRIVARAGUNAMANGAI NATHAM-MOON
Vijayasanar Emmiderkadavan and Goddess Varagunamangai Varagunavallin . Distance 2 kms from Srivaikuntam

3  THIRUPULIANGUDI - BUDHAN 8OR MERCURY : Boomipalagar and Pulingudivalli , Timing 9.00 am to 12 Noon , Distance 3 kms from Srivaikuntam .
Since we still had time before the opening of the Temple at 9.00 am , we finished our Breakfast with the packed stuff that we had brought from home .

4  ERATTAI THIRUPATHI - RAGHU : As the name itself suggests , there are two identical temples called as Erattai Thirupathi , each with one God and Goddess . This is dedicated to Raghu .
Srinivasan Thevarpiran and Alamelu Mangai , Distance 10 Kms from Srivaikutam , Timing 8.00 am to 12 noon .

5  ERATTAI THIRUPATHI : KETHU : Arivinason Chenthamarai Kannan and Karunthdankanni . Distance 10 Kms from Srivaikuntam . Timings 8.00 am to 12 Noon .

6  PERUNGULAM : SHANI OR SATURN :
VENKADAVANNAN MAYAKOOTHAR AND KAMALAVATHI KULANDAIVALLI .  Distance 12 Kms from Srivaikuntam , Timings 8.00 am to 12 Noon .

7  THENTHIRUPERAI ; SUKRAN OR VENUS ;
Maharenedun Kuzhailkaathu Mukilvannan and Kuzhaikaathu Valli Thiruperal Natchiyar , Distance 8 Kms from Srivaikuntam , Timings ; 8.00 am to 12 noon.

8  THIRUKOLLUR : CHEVAAI OR MARS :  The Lord here is in the SAYANAM  state .
Vaitha Manidhi Nichopavithan and Kumathavalli Kollor Valli . Distance 8 Kms from Srivaikuntam . Timings 8.00 am to 12 noon .

9 : AZHWARTHIRUNAGARI : GURU OR JUPITER :  Srivaikuntam and Alwarthirunagari are the largest Temples .
Aadhinathan Polinthunintrapran and Aadhinatha Nayagi . 5 Kms from Srivaikuntam , Timings 8.00 am to 12 Noon .
This temple is considered as the Birthplace of Nammazhwar considered as the most prominent among the 12 Azhwar Saints .

We were able to finish the Darshan at all places by 12. 30 pm , fact that we had a car at our disposal and a Driver whoe knew the routes to follow plus our own initiative to keep the timings in mind helped a lot . Lunch was arranged with Geetha Mami in the  AZHWARTHIRUNAGARI  Agrahaaram itself and we were back as planned at our home in Agasthiarpatty at 3.45 pm .

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands .  VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
