         SECOND G 11 VIRTUAL FAMILY MEET

The Second Family Virtual Meet of our Extended Family was held as slated at 20.30  IST yesterday . This time around , arriving at the Day and Time for the meet was much easier . The problem lay in choosing between ZOOM OR GOOGLE MEET as the App to be used . The general consensus was towards ZOOM .

Nearly 25 us were happy to meet , see and get to know each other , some for the first time ever . The late Evening in India , Early evening in London or early morning across the Atlantic at various locations in the US did not in any way dampen our enthusiasm.Barring a few , the majority of us were very much on the other side of the Sixties with my Aunt ( Mami ) in the nineties as the senior most person in the meet . Blessings and Aasirvadhams were saught by all of us from her .
Notes regarding each one's  mode of dealing with the pandemic were exchanged as were the news about our near ones who for some reason were not in the meet .

It was an apt  occasion to extend our wishes to a couple in the group who had celebrated their Sashtiaptapoorthy just a few days back.

Thanks Nataraj and Nivedita for making this meet possible  . Looking forward to the NEXT VIRTUAL MEET AND THE ALL IMPORTANT ACTUAL MEET NEXT YEAR

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in . Ashok seemed to have his way with the Indigo Airways . Group Check in saved us a lot of time . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands . VAIKOM VISIT- IN GODS OWN COUNTRY - 686

 VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
