It never ceases to amaze me to dwell on the absolutely beautiful and wonderful places around our place . Their sheer number and variety are sure to be the envy of many , less endowed with such a bounty .

THOTTIPAALAM or Hanging Bridge  is at Maathur in Kanyakumari District and is just 100 Kms from Ambasamudram. .





This stone bridge constructed in the year 1966 is the longest and highest of its kind in Asia . It is at a height of 115 Feet and is 1 Km long . This bridge of 28 pillars has a pipeline for water below the walkway to irrigate the agricultural land from one side of the mountain to the other side across a valley . Besides being a boon to the farming community and related activities around the area  it is also a  sure draw for the tourists for the sheer beauty of the panoramic view all around . Those visiting KANYAKUMARI and THIRPARAPPU WATER FALLS make it a point to include this place in their itinerary.

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in . Ashok seemed to have his way with the Indigo Airways . Group Check in saved us a lot of time . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands .  VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
