 MOVIES AND ME IN THESE CORONA DAYS 

Inspite of maintaining quite an otherwise active schedule in these days of Social Distancing , I am left to fend for myself and find  ways to while away the many  hours of free time in the solitude of my home with my better half for company . The fact that both of us are touching the 70 s mark adds an even more difficult  dimention to it .

I must hasten to add here that I sincerely make every effort to lead an active and busy lifestyle . Apart from my Blog  Writing Passion of late and efforts at improving my  Tamizh Writing , My Gardening and all that it rakes to look after the plants plus a daily near  8 kms of walk around the house  does still leave me with a lot of  free time to kill .

This is where the OTT  ( Over The Top ) Movie Streaming Platforms like Amazon Prime , Netflix or Disney Hotstar come as  a big help . With no Cinemas Halls  Screening shows , the streaming platforms Releasing New Movies  on specified dates are  a welcome and  a big draw among movie patronizers  . 

The fact that I am pretty comfortable with quite a few languages is  a big help  . Even otherwise Amazon Prime are  releasing movies in many Languages  with English Subtitles . 

Bengali and Malayalam films were never my favourites . The few Black and White Movies that I had earlier seen in my younger days almost always left me disappointed with their stingy backdrops and their efforts to portray everything at their very dismal worst and also  their far Left Leanings .

Movies in Tamil , Malayalam , Telugu and Kannada were all shot at Madras or Kodambakkam in the olden days . Except Tamil , all the others have gone their own  separate ways and to their respective State Capitals or other places in their own domain 

Sad to say this , while the Tamil Films have stayed entrenched in their Boy Chase Girl Stories or Rich/Poor Stories , Revenge Stories or Caste Based Stories , the Movie Makers  in other languages have made  tremendous improvements in their Movie Making and Story Telling  Techniques and have been in the forefront of making memorable movies  . 

Tamil and Telugu Films though seem to be engaged in a do or die battle to retain their place at the bottom of the pit .

Listed below are some movies which I thought that you all should watch  . I am leaving out the English and Hindi Movies altogether as they are obviously a class apart .

Malayalam Films are way above other language films .
