Being among the very First to experience and be a part of a change which has caught the imagination of the whole country is always something very special .

On the eve of our Republic Day I had the opportunity to travel by the VANDE BHARATH TRAIN from Bangalore to Chennai . 

For those still wondering about this name of VANDE BHARATH which in Tamizh will translate to 

VANAKKAM BHARATHAM 

are the super fast Trains which have been built at ICF - Chennai . The special feature is that it is a  totally MAKE IN INDIA concept with everything in it being of Indian Make . Even the Rim of the wheels which were so far  imported from Ukraine have now been manufactured in India .

4 PAIRS OF VANDE BHARATH TRAINS are now in operation in the Country and THE MYSORE TO CHENNAI which passes THROUGH BANGALORE is the  First one to operate in the SOUTH . 

The distance between Bangalore to Chennai is 350 KMS and the Vande Bharath Train takes just 4.5 Hours to cover the same . There is only one stop at Katpadi enroute . The Train commenced its journey from Banglore City Station at 3.00 PM and arrives at Chennai Central Dot on the scheduled time of 7.30 PM .

The display on the Wide Screen shows the Train Position at any given point of time and the Speed at which we are Traveling . The Travel for the most part is in the range of 100 to 115 KMPH . 

The Locomotive , Seating and Ambiance inside the Coaches is totally new to what we as Indians are used to . The Automatic closing of the Door at the Entry Point and between Coaches is totally new to Indian Travelers .

The free food on offer however is something which may not be the choice of many .  Barring a Sweet , a small Samosa and a cup of Tea or Coffee on offer , nothing else is provided . This I guess is probably because of the Timing which is neither here nor there between a Lunch and a  Dinner and only Snacks are a possibility . But still something more filling would always be Welcome  .

Barring the Food on offer , the Journey and the Comfort Level is in line with the Best anywhere else in the World .

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in . Ashok seemed to have his way with the Indigo Airways . Group Check in saved us a lot of time . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands .  VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
