Good Old Fountain Pen - 540

                       FOUNTAIN PEN - WHAT A MEMORY

The following thought came to my mind even  as I began to  PEN   my 540 th Blog --------------  ,,,   -------- wait ,  did I mention PEN !! , 

Pen is hardly the right word to be used as hardly anyone uses a pen now . PEN now  has been forced to take a back seat and make way for your fingers on the Key Pad of a Desk Top Computer , Lap Top , Tablet or a Mobile Smartphone  . As for myself , I do not have a computer and all my 540 odd posts have been from my Mobile Phone .

Just a thought , shall we have some fun and play a game ! 

 Travel down your memory lane and try to recollect as to  the last time you ever made use of a Fountain PEN  to write anything of SUBSTANCE of more than 50 words  . You would be surprised at the answers . It could be Weeks or Months for the not so old  and for people touching the sixties  and beyond like me , it could be a few years and in fact a few decades for the majority of the people . I for one do not recollect ever using a PEN  except for filling up a form at the  Railway Reservation Counter or at  the Odd Bank for filling the Challan for almost a decade  now and it never touches the 50 Words of SUBSTANCE mark .

Continuing with the time travel , during the School or College days  the Fountain Pen was always a Prized Possession for everyone .

There were various brands  of the Writing Instruments and I still have a clear memory of most of them . For the not so fortunate ones it was the WRITER or CAMLIN brand and for the majority of us it was either  the HERO OR PILOT pens . The affluent ofcourse had their PARKER AND SHEAFFER .

Over time , the Fountain Pen has been made to accept a change much like its other cousins like the Radio , Tape Recorder  , Huge Television Sets , Steam Locomotives and so on and so forth .

The modern day transformation  of the Fountain Pen is The Ball Point Pen . This can be found in the hands of everyone but how much they use it to write with it is  a big question mark  .
The Ball Point Pen itself now seems to be on a ventilator support in the ICU .

The fingertips are now the defacto PEN with the tips doing all the typing on the KEYPAD on a computer , laptop , tablet or mobile phone .
