Second Visit to the US (3 )-636

         MARLTON TO NEW YORK

After scrutinizing various options we decided that the best option to reach New York from Marlton was to drive down to Hamilton Train Station , Park our Car in the Station Parking Slot and take the Train to New York .

It was almost a 40 minute , 60 Kms drive to the Hamilton Station . The train was already entering the station even as we were at the Ticket Wending Machine , the Train Ticket Checker or Official waved us into the Train and collected the Fare from us inside the Compartment , with the train already in Motion . She was most Cheerful and forthcoming to help us .

It is a 65 Mile and 90 Minute Train Journey with stops at 9 Stations in between .The last 10 Miles including the New York  PENN STATION is underground .

The sight even as you get out of the station at ground level is  breathtaking . The complete maze of very tall structures , unbelievably large crowd especially due to the extra long weekend , The Glossy Glass Facade , Cacophony of Various Languages Spoken , The very Loud Music and Dance , the dazzling and colourful Billboards all around is absolutely out of this World .

It is no wonder that TIMES SQUARE alone sees a footfall in excess of a Lakh during the New Year Eve Celebrations and other Festive Days .

Modesty prevents me from posting pictures of Young Girls Dancing to loud music and garishly painted with nothing except that ONE AND ONLY most vital part under some sort of a small  cloth cover . Nothing is left for one's imagination .

This could be one of the reason for this place being a such big  attraction .

Times Square , Empire State Building , Madison Square , Manhattan Skyline , all within a walking distance all add up to make this place a Visitors Delight.

The Empire State Building Lighted up in many colours drew everyone’s attention .

There is a wide variety of food on offer if you have the stomach for it , Chinese, Thai , Italian , Mexican and many other types , you name it and it is there . Surprisingly , with such a large Indian crowd around, there are not that many Desi Food Eateries . Being forewarned , we were extra cautious and carried our food from Marlton itself .  It would not be out of place here to mention that the food discarded by us in the trash can was picked by a not so lucky gent .

Just goes to prove that all sorts of people go on to make our World even in this so called affluent country.

Men Dressed up as a Huge Gorilla was a special attraction for my Granddaughter Akshatha as were the Characters from Science Fiction Movies which was of great interest to my Grandson Adhvay .

There were many Chinese Artists who Drew Pencil Pictures of you even as you sat in front of him in 20 odd minutes .

    My Grandchildren Drawing

Fortunate to be one among the many who come and

visit this place .

Our Return to Ajax our Home will follow in my next Blog .
