                    BEING ON  CLOUD NINE 





Everyone in my age group or for that matter in any age  group ,  will recall the fond memories of their  First Ride on a Bicycle . The many falls , scratches or bruises that you had to endure before you finally got the hang of the delicate art of balancing the two wheels while being precariously seated in that small piece of leather is I am sure still fresh in your minds  .

Further finding the resources for hiring these cycles was always a tough challenge and many a hardship of good all around behaviour for many hours had to be  endured before you could permit  your parents to part with the astronomical figure of 25 paise in those days for that One  Hour  being in Heaven on your hired Bicycle. 

Fast Forward to the present age . At almost the same age but in a totally different era , I now see my Granddaughter on a GLIDER PLANE in Canada as an Air Cadet and trying to Master the art of Flying an Aircraft .


Good Luck dear Girl , you are surely going places in the high sky unlike your Grandfather almost 60  years back  on a Battered Appliance on two wheels called a Cycle  and  on a 4 feet wide muddy path that pretended itself  to be a road .

 AYODHYA YAATRA  DAY - ONE     Sundar Holiday Travels  As instructed  by Mr Ashok of Sunder Travels , we were dot on time at 9.00 thanks primarily due to smooth flow of traffic from Vadapalani to the Chennai  Airport .  Other Yatrees also slowly trooped in . Ashok seemed to have his way with the Indigo Airways . Group Check in saved us a lot of time . Ayodhya Yaatraa Day -3 - 704

                  Ayodhya Yatra - Day 3  The highlight of the day was to be the Holy Dip in the Triveni Sangamam .  For the uninformed Triveni Sangamam is the place where the Three Rivers Ganga Yamuna and Saraswathy converge into one . It is the place where Veni Daanam is given after a bath in the River .  The 20 Minute Boat Ride takes you to this place of convergence of these three rivers . The Boatmen help you to take a dip in the water . Old set of clothes are discarded symbolising the discarding of everything bad and the start of a new fresh life .  Ganga is slightly murky while the Yamuna is clearer , Saraswathy is Antervaahini and it converges under water .  The Dhambadhi Pooja after the Dip in the Holy Waters  was performed with all the diligence that the occasion demands .  VAIKOM VISIT - IN GODS OWN                     COUNTRY  Kerala has always been my favourite place of visit over the years . Its cleanliness , its greenery,  waterways , not to forget its spirituality and beautiful people in more ways than one  have always held  a special attraction for  me . We , that is me and my Better Half have visited Kerala before  and visited many of  its  Temples and Tourist Attractions.  One place missing in this list has been the Viakom  Sri Mahadeva Temple . We decided to embark  on  a visit to this place and Mami was spot on to point out that there was a direct Train from Ambasamudram to Vaikom Road by the 16792 Palaruvi Express starting from ASD at 11.57 PM and reaching Vaikom Road Station at 7.30 Am the next morning .
